The Ska rating scheme has recently been developed by the construction industry to achieve the fitting out of a building in a more environmentally sustainable way.  The scheme is led by  the RICS and is a decision making tool which ranks the different aspects of a fit out based on its impact on sustainability. There are 99 good practice measures across various areas including energy and CO2, water,waste, pollution,transport,materials and well-being. Unlike Breeam the Ska rating scheme does not take into account the ‘base’ or original building but only measures the actual fit out project. This allows the rating to match the scope of the actual fit-out works.
