Brief:

To convert 3 small retail units into one large unit, with new steelwork to support roof and first floor office.

Key Issues:

The maintenance of a weatherproof and totally secure environment was essential, given the nature and location of these buildings. The client also required the creation of a new fire exit and escape route.

Existing blockwork walls were removed and replaced with steelwork, to give more space and ease of access for the new retail premises.

There were also a number of complexities related to the scaffolding on the new roof area.

Outcome:

An extended and highly practical enlarged retail unit, complete with first floor offices and emergency exits. The unit was left ready for internal fit-out.
