Brief
A complete refurbishment of an existing mixed use large mews property into 4 No. high quality contemporary 1-2 bedroom flats and 1 No. private garage.
Key Issues
This was a very restricted site with strict planning approval, Limited vehicular access and numerous adjoining building owners including a recently refurbished hotel.
The Architects specification called for a modern design including a hardwood staircase with glazed stainless steel balustrade, a Cathedral roof with electronically operated Velux roof windows and high quality Poggenpohl kitchens and CP Hart bathrooms.
The project involved major structural works including mini-piles due to poor ground conditions and extensive brickwork repairs to the existing defective structure.
Outcome
4 individual flats with modern services and contemporary finishes in an existing Victorian building in a local conservation area.
