Project: Special Shower, Clacton.
Brief:
To create a shower area in a downstairs lounge for a young, disabled user who was no longer able to access the upstairs bathroom.
Key Issues:
As it was not possible to install a through-floor lift in this particular house, the requirement was to create a wet room facility in the front room, as part of the living and bedroom area. A small wall had to be created adjacent to the window to allow the fixing of a carer screen. The graded floor was then created and designed so that the existing carpet could remain in use.
The Result:
A highly practical and imaginative solution to an unusual and difficult problem.
