Brief:
To convert an existing warehouse into 3 inter-linked, modern units to meet the specific needs of a specialist tenant.
Key Issues:
This was a major re-development of an old warehouse, including a complete roof replacement with Twintherm insulation and new painted epoxy floors.
It involved the removal of a raised concrete floor and of a power substation, which was replaced with a new supply network from EDF Energy.
Uniquely, the work involved the creation of a 2.5m deep Hypobaric pit and the installation of a complex pressure vessel for testing undersea engineering equipment. |
|

The project involved the co-ordinated use of two cranes, working within limited headspace to lower the high value equipment into the precisely-dimensioned pit.
Outcome:
We worked flexibly and in close co-operation with the client’s fit-out contractors, to ensure the earliest release of completed sections of the building.
These new facilities and power supply are ideally suited to the tenant’s specialist technical requirements. The client was delighted, not only with the building, but with the co-operation between the two contractors. |
